Great news for women undergoing chemo therapy, or anyone else, who needs to freeze their eggs in order to preserve their fertility. A new technique for freezing eggs is allowing for a 75% success rate with fertilization. In the past this rate was only 1-2%. Success rates were previously so low do to the formation of ice crystals in the eggs that could cause the egg to shatter. However, this new technique prevents ice crystals from forming, allowing for a greater chance of success with frozen eggs.
