Congenital midvaginal constriction ring - anyone else had?

Doctor told me I have birth defect, will make vaginal childbirth difficult and makes sex painful. Wants me to have surgery to take out the constriction ring - I was wondering, has anyone else had vaginal constriction rings? what has been your experience with childbirth, surgery, and sex? thanks!
