Chronic Reoccurring Bacterial Vaginitis
5 Replies
xserrahx - May 8

I'm a 25 yr old sexually active female that has been struggling with chronic, ongoing BV for almost 5 years now. Like many women in my same position, I have yet to find an effective cure. I want to reach out to the women that HAVE BEEN CURED OF CHRONIC BV and see what worked for them.

Here is what I have tried:
Metronidazole (Flagyl)
Diflucan
Clindamycin
Acidophilus
RePhresh Vaginal Probiotics
Femdophilus Vaginal Probiotics
V-Statin Chinese Herbs
Hydrogen Peroxide Douche (NOT DAILY)
Baking Soda Douche (NOT DAILY)
Folic Acid
Alkaline water
Raw garlic
Loose clothes
Cotton Underwear
Abstinence
Cutting down sugar
Increasing greens
Exercise

All of the above things were recommended by a doctor, health professional, or BV sufferer.

So...WHAT WAS YOUR CURE?

alice - August 3

i had 7-day intravaginal 2% clindamycin cream applied once daily before going to bed.

kathleen - August 3

it says that recurrence rate of bacterial vaginitis happens to be at rates of 15-30% within three months.

tyra - August 4

3 years ago, i had BV and just took flagyl and it didn't came back anymore.

chynna - August 4

treatment with metronidazole or clindamycin should be very effective.

edelyn - August 4

the cause of the resistance to antibiotic on why the infection reoccurs may be that certain women may destined to develop repeat infection.
