Yeast Infection (needing help)
soundlyawake - November 19

I have had a yeast infection for about 4 months now. Probably one of the worst things that has ever happened to me. I still have no idea how i got it but it is awful. I have tried monistat, fluconazole, terconazole, and just about anything you can name i have tried it. My biggest issue is the painful sex, my boyfriend and I never had trouble before I got my yeast infection and now i feel like a virgin again, it is the worst. I am really running out of answers now. My Dr. is trying to get me to go on to a 6 month treatment of some pill and it just sounds awful and seems like it will be just another thing that won't work. Any answers or suggestions will be really appreciated.

you wouldn't know until you try it. doctor's knows best. maybe yeast infection got complicated as you have mentioned that you're having sex while it's still there and not yet completely treated.

refrain from doing any sexual activities while under treatment. it causes more infection and the possibility of passing it to your partner. be extra careful.

bottom line is, you're still having sex while on treatment which made your situation or condition more complicated. help yourself if you want to get better soon.

it's best to avoid sex until treatment is complete most especially if you are using cream or ointment. you will be putting not only yourself at risk but your partner as well since ointment or cream treatment or antibiotic can be irritating to a man's penis and sometimes may also lead to infections.

it won't take a year to treat yeast infection. having sex won't help infection clear any sooner and the possibility of reinfection will be at high risk. anyway, if you cannot avoid sex, just make sure to use condom.
