I have a problem with pills. For starters Ive always hated taking them and another thing I have a terrible memory and forget to take them. I know I shouldn't be forgetting about my growing child but I cant help but wonder why they need to be taken Every day when the iron in mine have a 300% daily value in them and if i take them regularly I start having a taste of blood and metal in my mouth. Please tell me I shouldn't feel bad about not taking them everyday!

The prenatal vitamins I took made me sick to my stomach so I stopped taking them. Don't feel bad, just compensate by eating as properly as you can because most people don't (hence the need for them in the first place), and drink LOTS of milk or consume some other form of calcium... not so much for the baby, more for your own bones for later.. the baby will take from you what he or she needs, even if you don't take the prenatal vitamins.

I don't like pills either, but I've found that the baby is really good motivation, so I remember them well enough. I usually end up with a very upset stomach with pills, but I found a prenatal vitamin with ginger in it and it seems to help. I also take this gummy calcium cause any other form just rips me apart.
While I'm sure that there are plenty of people who haven't taken vitamins during their entire pregnancy and things went well, at the same time it is very difficult to eat a diet with all the right vitamins in it. You could try eating vitamin-enriched foods like certain cereals, but even then I don't think you'd get enough folic acid.
I was told by my nurse that I have to take a pre-natal vitamin every day in order to have a healthy pregnancy for both me and the baby. I'm not sure what your doc will say, you'd probably want to bring it up and see if he has any advice.

I'm not too bad with remembering. The only time I have a hard time remembering, is when I'm having a bad day and I'm feeling sick. If I don't eat anything, I forget to take them, and end up taking them right before I go to bed, which just causes me tremendous heartburn. Not fun.
I'm missing it today though, because I'm at the cottage and forgot to bring them with me. (Yes...I remembered the laptop, but forgot my prenatals!) We'll be back tomorrow though, so I'm only missing them for one day so I'm not stressing about it.

Prenatal vitamins are vitamin supplements intended to be taken before and during pregnancy and during postnatal lactation.
Vitamins such as folic acid, calcium and iron are in higher concentrations while nutrients such as Vitamin A are reduced to reflect the current understanding of the role that these compounds play in fetal development.

Prenatal vitamins are good to be taken during pregnancy and is not to be taken for granted. It will help baby's development and it's not the reason to make a pregnant woman fat.

Your iron requirements go up significantly when you're pregnant. Iron is essential for making hemoglobin, the protein in red blood cells that carries oxygen to other cells. During pregnancy, the amount of blood in your body increases until you have almost 50 percent more than usual. And you need more iron to make more hemoglobin for all that additional blood. You also need extra iron for your growing baby and placenta.

Iron is not really good when it comes to taste but remember that it's for your own good and for the baby. Don't mind about the taste and please don't miss taking it according to the advice of your doctor.

Of all the prenatal vitamins, i really hate iron. The taste is not really good. I usually throw the capsule cause i feel nauseated and can't take the odor of it, but the ending, i was already anemic. So, my advice is, whatever you're doctor told you to take, you have to follow it cause that is for your own good and also for the baby...
