Cravings

Piper - February 11

Has anyone else had some cravings that once the moment of "OMG this is JUST what I wanted!" is over and you actually think about what you just ate, you feel sick?

I have actually gagged after eating some things and would like to know if anyone else has gone through this as well. I also have severe food allergies and have had a few minor cravings for those, does anyone know a way to help go around those or to change the focus of cravings?

I took a HPT last week and came out positive! I am keeping my fingers crossed on this one and praying nothing bad happens. Please keep me in your thoughts, I do not want to go through another loss.

What types of cravings are you having (just curious!). You could always just stop thinking about what you just ate, lol...or maybe think about it quite a bit before you eat it so that way you might gross yourself out and you wont crave it anymore.

I have been fighting the craving for cinnamon sugar toast with red chili sauce and caramelized onions for several days.

The main problem I'm having is that I am highly allergic to cinnamon, like rush me to the hospital allergic! LOL

It's fairly common for people to crave for food they are allergic with. My husband is allergic to crustaceans but he always craves for shrimp, crab and etc... I just hope your current craving on cinnamon changes. I say try to look for some fruit that tastes close to cinnamon, that might help.

Just Indulge! and don't think about what you ate. As for your current craving, you can simply shift that if you try to go some place where lots of foods are on display. Like your local market or something, I'm sure you'll find plenty of tasty snacks. That will help keep your mind off cinnamon.

It's good to obey your cravings as long as you crave for healthy foods and those that's nutritious ones too. But if you crave for junk foods or foods that cause a lot of health problems, then please don't dare go for it because it's you who will suffer including your baby.

WHEN I WAS PREGNANT, MY CRAVINGS IS THE MAIN PROBLEM OF MY HUSBAND. IMAGINE, AT 12 MIDNIGHT I WAS CRAVING FOR PINEAPPLE. MY HUSBAND TOLD ME THAT IT'S ALREADY LATE AND THERE'S NO PINEAPPLE AVAILABLE. HE TOLD ME TO JUST SLEEP AND WAIT FOR THE NEXT MORNING SO THAT HE CAN BUY PINEAPPLE AT THE MARKET. BUT TO MY FRUSTRATION, I JUST CRIED AND I WAS NOT ABLE TO SLEEP BECAUSE I REALLY WANT TO EAT PINEAPPLE. THE NEXT DAY WHEN PINEAPPLE WAS ALREADY THERE, I NO LONGER WANT TO EAT THE PINEAPPLE..IT'S REALLY HASSLE BUT I CANT STOP THE CRAVING...JUST FOLLOW WHAT U WANT BUT JUST EAT LITTLE.

Cravings is part of every pregnancy experiences a pregnant woman could experience. it's just normal and there is nothing to worry about it as long as the cravings are just normal foods and good to eat.

It is just an unexplainable event of the pregnant woman whose cravings may cause the loss of conception. But one should be careful and pray harder that in your craving if it is not been realized it would not result of a lose of the fetus.

Guys, when you are craving for something, don't make it hard for your partner. just control yourself also. i didn't believe it's uncontrollable because when i was pregnant, i also have some cravings, but if the food that i craved was not available, it's still ok. i didn't pressure the people that surrounds me. take note also that the food that you're craving is not harmful to your body and the baby.

That's totally normal piper, all you just have to do is to stay away from those foods that you are not allowed to eat. I could be very hard but think of this, it's for your baby and your own good. :)

There are many reasons that women experience food cravings during pregnancy. Perhaps the simplest explanation is your body is working twenty four hours a day seven days a week to grow a healthy baby. Some cravings are simply the result of your body's needs for additional calories during pregnancy.
